He stated, “The official opening of Techo International Airport epitomizes the vibrant development of Cambodia, demonstrating that the Khmer people are well on track to achieve their goals of becoming a middle-income country by 2030 and a high-income country by 2050. We are fully confident in the future of Cambodia as well as in the strength of China–Cambodia cooperation.”

In his remarks, Samdech Techo Hun Sen highlighted that over the past 76 years, China has achieved remarkable accomplishments across all sectors, overcoming obstacles and challenges with great success in the course of nation-building. He noted that China has become a global hub for economy, trade, investment, finance, manufacturing, industry, science, and innovation, making significant contributions to regional and global economic growth.

Samdech Techo also expressed his appreciation and congratulations to the Chinese people for their rapid socio-economic progress under the wise leadership of the Communist Party of China, headed by President Xi Jinping. He underlined that since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1958, Cambodia–China friendship — nurtured by successive generations of leaders of both countries — has continued to grow stronger, elevating into a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and an “Ironclad Friendship,” and most recently advancing to the highest level of an “All-Weather Community with a Shared Future.”

Expressing his profound delight, Samdech Techo Hun Sen stressed that Cambodia and China enjoy close and fruitful cooperation in all areas, reflecting traditional solidarity and win-win collaboration. He reaffirmed that Cambodia will continue to work closely with China within regional and international frameworks, including ASEAN–China cooperation, the Lancang–Mekong Cooperation, the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS), and the United Nations, to contribute to peace, stability, prosperity, and development in the region and beyond. Cambodia, he added, strongly supports China’s Belt and Road Initiative, Global Security Initiative, Global Development Initiative, Global Civilization Initiative, and Global Governance Initiative.

H.E. Wang Wenbin emphasized that China firmly supports Cambodia in safeguarding its national sovereignty, security, and development interests, and will always remain a reliable partner in Cambodia’s development. “We will continue working together with our Cambodian friends to achieve the great rejuvenation of both the Chinese and Khmer peoples,” he affirmed.
