The Voice of Evidence Speaks Louder Than Lies and Denial

The truth cannot be erased by any statement of denial, because the tangible evidence of the Thai military’s armed aggression on Cambodian territory continues to speak for itself.

Bomb craters left in the aftermath of airstrikes by F-16 and Gripen fighter jets; remnants of cluster munitions and other ordnance; visible scars of damage inflicted on Cambodia’s ancient temples, including Preah Vihear Temple and Ta Krabey Temple; civilian homes and property destroyed by military weapons; as well as civilian deaths and injuries—all stand as silent witnesses that no rhetoric can rewrite.

Moreover, photographs and documented evidence recording the looting of Cambodian civilians’ property, the placement of shipping containers, the installation of barbed wire, the blocking of roads, and attempts to create a fait accompli in disputed areas continue to demonstrate the consequences left behind by the use of armed force.

Stories can be denied, but bomb craters cannot. Propaganda can rewrite narratives, but it cannot erase the physical scars of destruction. Statements can divert attention, but they cannot bring the dead back to life or restore destroyed homes to what they once were.

This evidence must be preserved, documented, verified, and presented to the international community so that the truth is safeguarded, accountability is ensured, and the use of force to create new realities on the ground is never allowed to become a substitute for international law.
